In the words of Fall Out Boy – “THNKS FR TH MMRS”….Okay, maybe not the exact words because I do like my vowels. And I don’t like saying things over the internets in all caps.
From day one, when I started off as an intern for Hudson and Scotty, I have been shown a lot of love and support from the listeners. Star was my first experience and taste of working in radio and it’s bittersweet to be leaving. The long time listeners have watched me grow from being just an intern with zero radio experience into what I am now. And the newer listeners are lucky because they didn’t have to listen to me figure out how to be on the radio. It’s been almost nine years since I first started…And I just wanted to say thank you.
Thank you for all the love, the support, the compliments, the friendships, the laughs, the fun, the concerts, the events, the jokes, the occasional marriage proposal over the phone, and yes – even the phone calls from people telling me that I was wrong about something or that I suck. All of them are memories that I’ll take with me forever.
For those that are curious, I got a job in San Francisco and will be continuing in my radio career there. If you want to keep in touch – please do so! My email address will always be psychopixie@gmail.com and you can go to my Facebook page to see what I’m up to.
To end this, I thought I would share one of my fondest memories from working here at the station. But there were so many to pick from, I couldn’t decide on one!! And we don’t have the time for me to recount all the fun from 2002 to present, so instead…I give you this…A really horrible cover of “The Final Countdown.”
Whatever path you decide to walk on in life, make sure your footsteps are firm. Whatever the universe decides to throw at you, go through it with a smile – even if it’s hard. And no matter what, always follow your heart and chase after your dreams. Until we meet again, my friends.
Toodles!
Pixie
